Reporting Users & Content
Tavrn is a community, and like any community, it depends on people speaking up when something’s wrong. Here’s how the reporting system works. What You Can Report
You can report individual messages, in DMs or room channels, as well as user profiles for content that violates Tavrn’s Community Standards.Report Categories
When you submit a report, you’ll choose a category that best describes the violation:🚨 Harassment
Targeted, persistent, or threatening behavior directed at a specific person.
📢 Spam
Unsolicited messages, repeated content, or automated junk flooding chats.
🔞 Inappropriate Content
Content that’s graphic, explicit, or otherwise not appropriate for the platform.
⚠️ Threats
Direct or implied threats of violence or harm.
🚫 Hate Speech
Content targeting people based on identity, race, religion, gender, sexuality, etc.
❓ Other
Something that doesn’t fit a specific category but still violates the standards.
How to Report a Message
Add context (optional but helpful)
Include any additional details that help the reviewer understand what happened. The more specific, the better.
How to Report a User
- Open their profile (click their avatar or name)
- Click ⋯ more options
- Select Report User
- Choose a category and add context
- Submit
What Happens After You Report
- Pending, Your report enters the queue for review
- Investigating, The moderation team is actively reviewing the report
- Resolved, Action was taken (the exact action isn’t shared with reporters for privacy reasons)
- Dismissed, The report was reviewed and no violation was found
You won’t always receive detailed feedback on what action was taken. This isn’t because your report doesn’t matter, it’s to protect the privacy of all parties involved in the review process.
Block + Report
The most powerful combination when dealing with someone causing you harm: report them so Tavrn can take action, then block them so you don’t see their activity in the meantime. Blocking is immediate, it takes effect the moment you do it. Reports go through a review process that takes time. Use both.Learn about blocking in Blocking Someone.
Reporting in Good Faith
The report system works because people use it responsibly. A few things to keep in mind:- Don’t weaponize reports, Filing a report on someone because you had an argument, not because of a genuine violation, undermines the system for everyone
- Be specific, Vague reports are harder to act on. The more context you provide, the more useful your report is
- You can report multiple messages, If a pattern of behavior spans multiple messages, you can note the additional message IDs when filing the report
Room-Level Moderation
Reports go to Tavrn’s central moderation team. But room owners and admins also have their own moderation tools, they can kick, ban, and delete messages independently of the formal report system. If someone is violating a specific room’s rules (but not necessarily Tavrn’s platform-wide standards), the room moderators are the right people to contact first.Frequently Asked Questions
