Managing Multiple Accounts

Some people have more than one Tavrn account, maybe a personal one and one for a community or persona. Tavrn supports account switching so you don’t have to log out and back in every time.

Why Have Multiple Accounts?

Common reasons:
  • Personal vs. community, A private account for close friends and a separate one for a public community you run
  • Testing, Trying something out without affecting your main account
  • Different contexts, Different communities that you prefer to keep separated
  • Work vs. personal, Keeping professional and personal Tavrn identities separate
Multiple accounts are fine. Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or manipulate the platform is not, it’s a violation of Community Standards and will result in additional bans.

Adding a Second Account

Open your profile card

Click your avatar or username anywhere in the app to open your profile card.

Find the 'Accounts' section

At the bottom of your profile card, you’ll see the Accounts section with an Add Another Account button.

Click 'Add Another Account'

A form appears asking for the email and password of your second account.

Enter the second account's credentials

Type the email and password for your other Tavrn account.

The account is added to your switcher

You’ll now see both accounts listed. Click any account to switch to it.

Switching Between Accounts

Once you have multiple accounts saved:
  1. Click your avatar to open your profile card
  2. In the Accounts section, you’ll see all your saved accounts
  3. Click the account you want to switch to
  4. Tavrn switches to the selected account, everything updates: DMs, rooms, notifications, profile

Removing a Saved Account

Account removal from the switcher isn’t a separate action, clearing is handled by logging out or managing sessions. If an account you’ve added isn’t one you want saved, log out of it from that account’s session.

Notifications Across Accounts

Push notifications are tied to the active account. If you switch to Account B, push notifications will come from Account B’s activity. Account A’s notifications will be waiting for you when you switch back. Check your notification bells after switching, things may have piled up on an inactive account.

Each Account is Independent

Your accounts don’t share:
  • Friends lists
  • Room memberships
  • Messages
  • Privacy settings
  • Cocoa subscriptions
Every account is its own fully separate identity. If you want Cocoa on both, you need two subscriptions.

Account merging isn’t currently supported. Your friends lists, rooms, and messages are stored separately per account and can’t be combined.
There’s no documented hard limit. In practice, most people have 2-3 accounts at most.
No, each account requires a unique email address. You can use email aliases (like Gmail’s + trick) if you want multiple accounts under the same inbox.
It depends on the reason for the ban and whether Tavrn can link the accounts. Creating additional accounts specifically to evade a ban is against the rules and can result in those accounts being banned too.
