Someone gifted you Cocoa, that’s a genuinely kind thing. Here’s what happens next.

What “Gifted Cocoa” Means

When a Tavrn admin or team member gifts Cocoa to your account, your subscription is activated automatically. No payment required on your end, no codes to enter, it just shows up. You’ll receive an in-app notification letting you know that you’ve received Cocoa, along with how long it’s active for.

Your Perks Are Active Immediately

As soon as Cocoa is applied to your account, all perks unlock right away:
  • Animated avatar, Upload a GIF as your profile picture
  • Cocoa badge, Appears on your profile
  • HD media uploads, Higher quality images and larger file size limits
  • Rich custom status, Emoji + text status
  • Profile themes, Exclusive visual themes
  • Extended message history, Unlimited message history

How Long Does It Last?

The notification you receive will tell you how long your gifted Cocoa lasts. When the period ends:
  • Your perks deactivate
  • Your profile returns to the standard free experience
  • Nothing is deleted, your history, messages, and connections stay intact

What If I Already Have a Subscription?

If you’re already a paying Cocoa subscriber, gifted time stacks on top of your existing subscription, it doesn’t replace or shorten what you’ve already paid for.

The Cocoa Badge

While gifted Cocoa is active, your profile shows the same ☕ Cocoa badge as any other Cocoa member. There’s no distinction between gifted and paid, you get the full experience.

Keeping Your Cocoa Going

Gifted Cocoa expires when the gift period ends. If you want to keep your perks after that:
  1. Go to Settings → Cocoa
  2. Subscribe to a monthly or yearly plan
  3. Your perks continue without any gap

Frequently Asked Questions

Cocoa gifting is managed by the Tavrn team and administrators. It’s used for things like community events, giveaways, or rewarding active members.
Try refreshing the page, there can be a brief delay. Check Settings → Cocoa to confirm your subscription status. If it still shows nothing after a few minutes, reach out to support.
Gifting to other users isn’t a self-serve feature available to regular users. Community events and official programs are the primary way Cocoa gets gifted.
